 The Social Ladder of Cliques
« Thread Started on Aug 20, 2008, 11:35am »

The Elites

The crème de la crop. Top of the top. They're like the royal monarchy of the Upper East Side; everybody knows who they are and everybody respects them. It's extremely hard to get it in and those who are in possess beauty, cunning, power and wealth. It also takes an old, well-known, respectable and upper-class family name to get into this group. You can only earn your way into this group.

  • The Preps
Those who belong in this group identify the most with the servants of England's royal family (however, they're servants of the elites). They're the step down from the elites; most of them lack the charisma or ambition to make it to the top. Most of their families are lower upper-class.You can only earn your way into this group.
  • The Jocks/Jockettes
Every single jock or jockette is involved at least one sports activity, but usually is involved with numerous activities. Their favorite fashion statement is the sports team jacket and their favorite topic is yesterday's football game. These people simply breath, live and eat sports. Although some of them might seem a tad dimwitted (especially the guys), they have rockin' bodies to die for.
  • The bitches
Think Mean Girls. These are four girls that rule the school by being intimidating and mean. They aren't really a clique, but a group of friends who reign over the Upper East Side thanks to fear of them. They all belong in a side group, whether it be the elites or preps. Never do they isolate themselves from the social world. They're the ones who know the latest gossip, latest trends and latest fads. You can only earn your way into this group.
  • The Sweethearts
Although most of the sweet darlings belonging to this group are females, it's not uncommon to find an occasional boy. These people are said to be 'sweeter than a pack of godiva chocolates'. They're not ones to lose their temper quickly or go around insulting people for the fun of it. However, don't underestimate this friendly group. They like to get their hands dirty once in a while, too, but do a better job cleaning up.
  • The sluts/Players
The charming members of this group have written their names upon the many student's of both Upper East Side schools and have earned a reputation for doing so. These Casanovas & Juliette's know all the right words to say, often scoring rather than missing. To them, emotional and sexual relationships have become a game that usually leaves the other end hurtin'. Due to so many students getting hurt, these romantic flirts have been branded with disgusting names to warn others from committing to a relationship with them.
  • The Stoners
These people depend on drugs to get them by in life. They usually do bad in school or simply put, don't attend it. There's not a care in the world once they've inhaled their favorite drug. Most of them come from screwed up rich families, where abuse or violence may exist on a daily basis. No Upper East Sider dares to help these 'different' and 'uncivilized' people.

The Outcasts

Not quite at the top of the social ladder the out casts are fine just where they are.The take pride in there individuality and don't often follow the trends of the elites. Most don't come from money, and it shows with their choice of clothing, friends, and hang outs. Some are known but, not always for the right reasons. Some, however, are unhappy being know as an out cast and steadily try to make the treacherous climb up the social ladder.

  • The Rebels
Authority has no standing for these independent souls. They don't usually follow trends, rules and do whatever the hell they feel like. Most of them aren't known to be friendly and their stereotype indicates that they're into hard metal and into the color black.
  • The Stoners

  • The Creative Artists/Poets
There are the ones passionate about singing, the ones passionate about the tango and those passionate about delivering an extraordinary performance, one that matches Helen Mirren's in The Queen or Cate Blanchett's in Elizabeth II. These people are serious about their talents and are ready to ditch their education to further their creative career. They involve themselves in all the creative events around NYC, whether it be starring in the newest broadway show, performing live in a popular nightclub or simply creating a piece for an art gallery. Poets: The written word is the ultimate passion for these aspiring Silversteins. Seen occasionally at Starbucks with a café mocha and notepad in their pen, they write about many topics ranging from love to death with many prodigious adjectives. They're never short of something to say with their immense and impressive vocabulary. Many of them believe that the pen is, indeed, mightier than the sword.
  • The Rockers/ Emos
These people have an unhealthy obsession with rock music, guitars, drums, motorcycles and skateboards. There are the greasers, rockabillys, psychobillys, punks and the motorcyclists. They dress in appropriate attire that their sub-group find suitable, be it tight jeans or leather jackets. Some of them just don't care about school and expect their father's money to get them by in life, while others actually give an effort. However, due to top-class breeding on the Upper East Side, these "differents" are kept to a minimum. EMOS You have the stereotypical emos, the emos, the goths, the gothic emos and the people who wear the color black 24/7. They were all labeled "emo" because students of Constance & St. Jude's failed to realize the difference between them all. Some of the clique's members cut, some listen to metal music, some wear make-up (even the boys). They all have one thing in common, though; each and every member tends to look on the dark side of life, which usually leads to severe cases of depression. They're not too common among The Upper East Side's student population.
  • The Normals
There's a percentage of the school that doesn't like the system of cliques and chooses not to join them. Those people are called normal and ironically, are put into a clique by all the other groups. Most of them attend Constance or St. Jude's on a scholarship or come from a middle-class family that has a tad bit more money than needed to get by in life.
